Back in September 2023, the first ever Club Motul Hill Climb was held at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb. Under a stressed timeframe of 2 weeks, to plan and sell tickets we patted ourselves on the back. There are events that we manage for Motul but this one was ours from start to finish.

When it came to the 2024 Club Motul Hill Climb, we wanted to make it bigger and better. With Shelsley Walsh booked for the 25th of May, it was time to cue the music.

After a full logo redesign and the Eventbrite page created, it was time to sell some tickets. After the 40 or so cars and 20 or so spectators we had at the first CMHC, we had a target to beat.

As well as advertising to our mailing list, we decided to create a paid social media campaign using content from the first Hill Climb and used traditional newspaper advertising to push the event. By the start of May, we had 105 cars lined up to take to the hill.

Organising the event from start to finish meant detail was key. As well as a branding exercise with an inflatable 6m Motul arch, merch giveaways, prizes and a Motul influencer- it also needed to be an enjoyable day for attendees.

That meant making the day go as smoothly as it possibly could with Eventbrite ticket check-in, CMHC branded wrist bands for spectators and drivers as well as being as accommodating we could. Plus the sun shone down all day.

Making sure we captured as much content as we could on the day meant that we had a bank of images and videos to use for social media and web content too.
